Or Shalom is a program for children (ages 3-21) at risk who have been removed from their homes due to abuse and neglect and are living with foster families in the community. The program's therapeutic center is located in Mevaseret Zion. The children come there for therapeutic activities and to meet with their biological parents. The bat sherut is integrated with the professional staff. Most of her work is in the children's foster homes, acting as a mentor and "big sister" and helping with homework. There is also office work involved, such as planning and executing projects according to the needs of the program and the bat sherut's initiative.
