The Jerusalem Center for Therapeutic Riding was founded in 1944 with the goal of serving the special needs community. Man has always had a special relationship with horses, as the horse gives its companion strength, love, self-respect, pride and a special spiritual and physical feeling. Although horseback riding is an enjoyable activity for many people, its special meaning to and impact on those who suffer from physical disabilities is particularly critical. This is an additional path to rehabilitation, the benefits of which many people with disabilities miss out on in their day to day lives. The bnot sherut lead groups of children and teenagers with disabilities for whom horseback riding is part of their treatment and rehabilitation. In addition, the bnot sherut are in charge of the cleanliness of the horses and the stables. It is preferable that you have experience riding horses, but it is not a necessity. The hours are in shifts Sundays through Thursdays 8-3 or 12-8, and Fridays 8-12.
